BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Junior Sabriya Farquharson of the College of Saint Benedict track and field team has been named the MIAC Field Athlete of the Week following a standout performance at the CSB+SJU Valentine's Day Meet.

Farquharson, a native of Nassau, Bahamas, earned her first MIAC weekly honor after winning both the long jump and triple jump with season-best marks. Her efforts helped the Bennies compile 212.5 points to secure the team title on Saturday, Feb. 14, in Collegeville, Minn.

A three-time MIAC champion in the jumps, Farquharson claimed the triple jump title with a season-best leap of 11.30 meters (37-1), a mark that ranks 27th in NCAA Division III. She also won the long jump with a season-best distance of 5.48 meters (17-11.75), which ranks 45th nationally in Division III.

Farquharson and the Bennies will return to action at the Tostrud Classic in Northfied, Minn., on Friday, Feb. 20.
