ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – Senior Mary Kenney has been named The House and St. Cloud Orthopedics CSB Athlete of the Week after a standout performance at the Toni St. Pierre Invitational on Sept. 5.

Kenney clocked a time of 19:06.9 in the 5,000 meters, tying for the 17th-best time in College of Saint Benedict history and leading the Bennies to a team victory.

A nursing major from Woodbury, Minn., Kenney placed second overall, helping CSB land seven runners in the top 15. She was joined in the top 10 by first-year Daphne Grobstein, who finished fifth in 19:22.2 (tied for 32nd all-time at CSB), and sophomore Julia Babineau, who placed 10th in 20:04.6.

The team scored 41 points, narrowly beating UW-Stout, who finished second with 53.

Kenney continues to build on a strong collegiate career. Last year, she earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District and USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. She also led CSB at the 2024 NCAA North Region meet, finishing 53rd with a season-best 6K time of 23:32.5, as the Bennies placed 18th overall.

Next up, Kenney and the CSB cross country team will head to Northfield, Minn., for the St. Olaf Invitational on Sept. 20.
