COLD SPRING, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict cross country team opened its 2025 season with a dominant showing at the Toni St. Pierre Invitational, placing seven runners in the top 15 to claim the team title at Golden Oaks Golf Club.
Leading the charge for CSB was senior
Mary Kenney, who clocked a personal-best 5K time of 19:06.9 to finish second overall. Her performance ties for 17th in program history, matching Kaycee Knutson's 2011 mark.
The Bennies placed three runners in the top 10, including impressive finishes from first-year
Daphne Grobstein, who took fifth in 19:22.2 — a time tied for 32nd all-time at CSB (Alyx Chapman, 2009) — and sophomore
Julia Babineau, who finished 10th in 20:04.6.
CSB captured the team title with 41 points, edging out UW-Stout, who finished second with 53 points. UW-Stout was led by the individual winner Claudia Laslowski, who crossed the line in 18:26.2. Rounding out the team standings including Northwestern-St. Paul, third, 62 points; UW-Superior, fourth, 106 points; and St. Catherine, fifth, 111 points.
