ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict athletic department celebrated the accomplishments of the 2025-26 athletic year in May with its annual student-athlete celebration. Twelve Bennies were announced as finalists for the annual CSB Rookie of the Year award, presented to the top newcomer of the season in each sport.
First-year
Daphne Grobstein (Golden Valley, Minn./Hopkins) was selected as cross country's finalist for the award.
Grobstein was cross country's highest finisher at the 2025 MIAC Championships where she earned All-MIAC honorable mention honors (23rd). She was one of eight MIAC first-years to finish in the top 25 at the MIAC meet.
She earned a top five finish with a personal-best 5k time of 19:22.1 at the Toni St. Pierre Invitational. Her 6k time ranked 23rd in the MIAC (23:04.1), a mark she achieved at Linfield's George Oja Invitational on Oct. 18. She finished 57th at the NCAA Regionals on Nov. 15.
Grobstein also competed in track & field for CSB, collecting a pair of All-MIAC honorable mention finishes at the conference indoor and outdoor meets. She finished sixth (12:57.76) as a part of the Bennie indoor distance medley relay and was fifth with a personal-best 11:30.91 in the steeplechase at the outdoor championship. She earned a pair of first place finishes in two meets during the track & field season.
CSB finished eighth of 11 teams at the 2025 MIAC Championships. Saint Benedict was 16th of 30 teams at the NCAA Regional in the fall.
