Six CSB student-athletes from lacrosse, hockey and golf earn CSC Academic All-District honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Six student-athletes, representing lacrosse, hockey, and golf from the College of Saint Benedict, have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large Team, according to an announcement Tuesday (June 17).

The honorees include: junior Jamie Bimberg, golf/hockey; junior Catherine Jance, golf; senior Aurora Opsahl, hockey; senior Emma Osland, lacrosse; senior Jenna Timm, hockey; and senior Kate Moffat, hockey.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on Tuesday, July 8, 2024.

A two-sport standout from Chanhassen, Minn., Bimberg earned her first CSC Academic All-District honor. She was a standout for CSB in both golf and hockey. In golf in 2024-25, she had three top 20 finishes and was tied for 25th with a 48-over par 252 (81-85-85) at the MIAC Championship. She finished fourth with a career-best round of 152 (78-84) at the CSB Invitational. Bimberg was second on CSB with an 81.3 per round average. In 2023-24, she placed 21st with a three-round total of 255 (89-85-81) at the MIAC Championships. She averaged 83.1 per round in a season when she had three top 20 finishes. Bimberg, who has been a WGCA All-American Scholar twice and Academic All-MIAC four times (twice in hockey and golf), tied for 17th in her first MIAC Championship in 2022-23. In hockey, she was standout on defense, starting in 24 games in 2024-25 when she helped CSB to a 12-10-3 record (9-8-2 MIAC). She scored a goal with an assist and had 26 shots this year. In her career, she has played 61 games, registering two goals and three assists with 46 shots. She has earned two-straight Krampade/AHCA All-American Scholar honors.

A junior biochemistry and pre-medicine major from Hopkins, Minn., Jance earned her first CSC Academic All-District honor. This year, Jance received Academic All-MIAC, and All-MIAC honors during a stellar season, highlighted by her 23rd place finish of 33-over par, 249 (85-82-82) at the MIAC Championships at St. Cloud Golf Club on September 30. Her consistent play contributed to the Bennies' sixth-place team finish with a cumulative score of 160-over par, 1,024 (340-342-342). With this honor, Jance is the 46th golfer in CSB history to earn All-MIAC recognition. Jance's success extended into the spring season, where she added to her accolades by winning back-to-back individual titles—becoming just the second golfer in program history to do so. On April 19, she claimed the top spot at the Rumble at the Ridge with a one-over par 73 at Oneka Ridge Golf Course in White Bear Lake, Minn., matching her career-best round. She followed up with another standout showing at the Gustavus Spring Invite at the Emerald Greens Golf Course in Hastings, Minn., on April 12-13, by posting rounds of 74 and 73 for a career-low 147 and her second consecutive title. Jance joined Kathryn Hauff Dehn—a 2024 CSB Athletics Hall of Fame inductee who accomplished the feat in 2010—as the only two golfers in program history to win consecutive events. She also earned the MIAC Golf Athlete of the Week on April 22. Over the season, Jance led the team with a scoring average of 80.2 across 16 rounds, tallying 1,283 total strokes. She recorded two individual wins, three top 10 finishes, and notched five of the team's top seven rounds of the year—including two career-low rounds of 73.

A native of St. Louis, Mo., Moffat earned her first CSC Academic All-District honor. She also was named Academic All-MIAC three times. In 2024-25, she led CSB to a 12-10-3 record (9-8-1, MIAC), registering an .899 save percentage for 10th in the MIAC. Moffat, who had 478 saves, recorded a 2.88 goals against average for 10th in the MIAC. In terms of saves per game, she was seventh in the MIAC (23.90 per game) and recorded two shutouts. With five career shutouts, Moffat ranks fourth all-time at CSB and ranks second all-time at CSB with 21 career wins (21-20-3). With 1,158 career saves, Moffat, who played 61 career games, ranks seventh all-time in school history. For her career, she finished with a .910 saves percentage while accruing a 2.69 goals against average.

A native of Duluth, Minn., Opsahl earned her second selection to the CSC Academic All-District Team. A three-time Academic All-MIAC honoree and 2022-23 All-MIAC honoree, Opsahl was tied for the team-high with 17 points, scoring nine goals with eight assists, in 2024-25. In helping CSB to a 12-10-3 (9-8-1, MIAC) totaled 79 shots with a game-winning shot, Opsahl accumulated 39 goals, which ranks fifth all-time in CSB history. Her 34 assists and 69 points are both seventh in school history. Opsahl, who finished with 316 shots in her career, tied the school record (Susan Engel, 2001-05) for eight game-winning goals in her career. She had five multi-goal games in her career, including a career-best of three vs Lake Forest on Jan. 4, 2024. Opsahl set a school record by scoring goals in seven straight games from Jan. 31, 2023, to Feb. 17, 2023. In fact, she closed the year with goals in eight of 10 games. Opsahl, who played in 90 career games, scored a season-career-best 14 goals in 2023 when she led CSB with 22 points and 106 shots.

Twice named to the Midwestern Lacrosse Conference All-Academic Team, Osland earned her second CSC Academic All-District honor. Originally Cottage Grove, Minn., Osland totaled 10 goals and 13 points with 24 shots, 24 draw controls and 22 ground balls in 2025 for CSB, helping the Bennies to an 11-6 mark and 7-2 and second in the WIAC. Osland also earned All-MLC honors in 2023 (21 goals - 24 points) and 2024 (26 goals - 32 points). Eighteen times in her career, Osland tallied multi-goal games. In her career, she played 44 games with 57 goals, 12 assists and 69 points. She also had career totals of 73 ground balls and 75 draw controls.

A senior finance major from Maple Grove, Minn., Timm was a captain for the Bennies, and led her team to a 12-10-3 (9-8-1, 6th, MIAC) record. This is Timm's first CSC Academic All-District honor. She was tied for the team lead with assists (10) and points (17). She played 22 games and recorded 55 shots with three game-winning goals. She received her third career All-MIAC honor after previously being named to the team in 2021-22 and 2022-23. She also earned All-MIAC Rookie Team recognition in 2021. This year, Timm was one of four student-athletes from the MIAC to receive all-conference honors for the third time in their careers. All-time at CSB, Timm is the fourth three-time All-MIAC honoree (Paula Vogt, 1998-2001; Kate Rollwagen, 1998-2002; Susan Engel, 2001-05). She also earned Academic All-MIAC honors three times, and this year was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Timm was tied with fellow senior Aurora Opsahl for the most points on the team this season, recording 17 total points. She scored seven goals and added 10 assists, along with 55 shots, two game-winning goals, and a team-high 38 blocked shots. Her efforts were instrumental in CSB's top-ranked power play in NCAA Division III, which operated at 33.3%. One of Timm's standout moments this season came on February 14, when she scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lead the Bennies to a 4-3 upset over No. 4 Augsburg. This victory marked CSB's first win over the top five team since 2016. Over her career, Timm has netted 19 goals, including a career-high seven this season, and has accumulated 39 assists, ranking fifth all-time in program history. She also recorded seven game-winning goals, which places her third all-time at CSB.
