BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Junior Catherine Jance of the College of Saint Benedict golf team has been named to the All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Team, as announced by the league office on Monday, May 12.

Jance has enjoyed a stellar season, highlighted by her performance at the MIAC Championships at St. Cloud Golf Club on September 30. She finished 23rd overall with a 33-over par total of 249, posting rounds of 85, 82, and 82. Her consistent play contributed to the Bennies' sixth-place team finish with a cumulative score of 160-over par, 1,024 (340-342-342).

With this honor, Jance of Hopkins, Minn., becomes the 46th golfer in College of Saint Benedict history to earn All-MIAC recognition. The program has now produced an All-MIAC golfer for five consecutive seasons and in 14 of the past 15 years.

The All-Conference team is determined by a combination of MIAC Championship results and end-of-season coach voting. The top 10 individual finishers (including ties) at the conference championship automatically receive All-MIAC honors, with five additional spots awarded based on season-long performance. Players receiving votes from at least three coaches but falling short of the top five vote-getters earn honorable mention honors.

Jance's success extended into the spring season, where she added to her accolades by winning back-to-back individual titles—becoming just the second golfer in program history to do so. On April 19, she claimed the top spot at the Rumble at the Ridge with a one-over par 73 at Oneka Ridge Golf Course in White Bear Lake, Minn., matching her career-best round. That performance helped CSB to a runner-up team finish. She followed up with another standout showing at the Gustavus Spring Invite at the Emerald Greens Golf Course in Hastings, Minn., on April 12-13, by posting rounds of 74 and 73 for a career-low 147 and her second consecutive title. Jance joins Kathryn Hauff Dehn—a 2024 CSB Athletics Hall of Fame inductee who accomplished the feat in 2010—as the only two golfers in program history to win consecutive events. She also earned the MIAC Golf Athlete of the Week on April 22.

Over the season, Jance led the team with a scoring average of 80.2 across 16 rounds, tallying 1,283 total strokes. She recorded two individual wins, three top-10 finishes, and notched five of the team's top seven rounds of the year—including two career-low rounds of 73.
