. – On Senior Day,
Emma Osland and
Emma Schrepfer helped the College of Saint Benedict lacrosse team close out the 2025 regular season in style. With a dominant 23-4 win over Southwestern University, the Bennies notched their seventh straight victory and secured the program's first-ever berth in the WIAC playoffs.
With the win, CSB improved to 10-5 overall and 7-2 in WIAC play, locking in second place in their inaugural WIAC season. The Bennies will now prepare for their first postseason appearance in the WIAC, set for May 2-3.
CSB finished the regular season on a tear, outscoring opponents by a combined 132-31 during the seven-game streak — an average margin of 18.85 to 4.42 goals per game. On Saturday, the team honored seniors Osland and Schrepfer for their leadership and impact. Schrepfer contributed a goal, while Osland added two more in the win.
Sophomore
Emma Nelson led the offensive charge with a season-high six points, scoring twice and dishing out four assists. First-year
Merrill Delich had a breakout game, recording a career-high four goals, pushing her season total to 14. Juniors
Sami Hackley,
Hannah Kurowski, and
Izzy Bohlman each netted hat tricks. Hackley now boasts 35 goals this season and 125 in her career, with 32 multi-goal games. Bohlman has 29 goals on the year, while Kurowski reached five.
Also contributing multiple goals were Osland,
Lizzie Schrubbe, and
Ava Mosley. Schrepfer and
Ella Steinke rounded out the scoring with one goal apiece. Mosley, who also had two assists, now leads the team with 38 goals and 53 points this season and has recorded multi-goal performances in 10 games.
Goalkeeper
Chloe Lewis continued her stellar play, limiting Southwestern to just four goals — marking the seventh consecutive game she has allowed seven or fewer. She made five saves, improved to 8-5 on the season, and dropped her goals-against average to 9.43. Her career record now stands at 27-12.
The Bennies took early control with a 3-1 lead, though the Pirates closed the gap to 4-3 before CSB led 6-4 at the end of the first quarter. From there, it was all Saint Ben's — the team scored the final 17 goals of the game, including a 5-0 run in the second quarter for an 11-4 halftime lead. CSB shut out Southwestern in the second half, dominating 12-0 (7-0 in the third, 5-0 in the fourth).
The Bennies' dominance was reflected in every statistical category: shots (39-12), shots on goal (26-5), ground balls (27-21), draw controls (23-7), and successful clears (15-of-17).
