Mosley, Hackley, Fandel Thompson & Bohlman lead CSB lacrosse to 13-5 win over MSOE

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- With a hat trick from first-year standout Ava Mosley and a balanced offensive attack, the College of Saint Benedict lacrosse team evened its record at 5-5 with a commanding 13-5 nonconference win over Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) on Sunday, April 13 at Viets Field.

Mosley led the charge with five total points—scoring three goals and dishing out two assists. With her performance, she moved into second on the team in total points with 29 (21 goals, 8 assists) and has now recorded five multi-goal games, including three in her last four outings.

Junior Sami Hackley added two goals, pushing her season total to 22, and continues to pace the team in points with 31 (22 goals, 9 assists). A consistent threat, Hackley has now scored multiple goals in 18 of her last 21 games, and her career tally sits at an impressive 112 goals.

The Bennies also saw strong contributions from their underclassmen. First-year Izzy Bohlman scored twice to bring her season total to 20 goals, recording her sixth multi-goal game. Fellow first-year Lilly Fandel Thompson netted her first career multi-goal game, while additional goals came from Kamryn Peterson, Merrill Delich, Lizzie Schrubbe, and Emma Schrepfer.

Defensively, junior goalkeeper Chloe Lewis anchored the effort with eight saves, allowing five goals or fewer for the second consecutive game. She now has 74 saves on the season, a .615 save percentage, and has lowered her goals-against average to 11.78.

CSB jumped out early with a 5-1 lead after the first quarter, and by outscoring MSOE, 4-1, in the second, they entered halftime with a dominant 9-2 advantage. The second half saw a more balanced effort, but the Bennies maintained control, outscoring MSOE, 4-3, to close out the win.
