Hackley has two goals but CSB Lacrosse falls to No. 19 Colorado College

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Despite a pair of goals from Sami Hackley, the College of Saint Benedict lacrosse team (2-4, 0-2 MIAC) suffered a 17-4 defeat to No. 19 Colorado College (9-2, 3-0 WIAC) on Sunday, March 30.

The loss drops CSB to a 2-4 record overall and 0-2 in WIAC play, while Colorado College improves to 9-2 on the season and maintains a perfect 3-0 conference record for first place in the WIAC standings.

Hackley led the Bennies, extending her team-high total to 15 goals and 21 points for the season. Her two-goal performance marked her 27th multi-goal game of her career, bringing her career total to 105 goals. Freshman Izzy Bohlman also scored for CSB, marking her 11th goal of the season, second on the team. Senior Emma Osland added another goal, which was her 50th career goal and 60th point.

For Colorado College, Sofia Mancino scored four goals to lead the Tigers. Colorado College quickly took control of the game, jumping to a 7-0 lead after the first quarter and extending it to 11-0 by halftime. The Tigers added a 4-1 advantage in the third quarter to take a commanding 15-1 lead. CSB responded with a 3-2 scoring edge in the fourth quarter, with Hackley, Bohlman, and Osland each finding the back of the net.

In goal, Chloe Lewis recorded eight saves for the Bennies, bringing her season total to 46 and career total to 338.

Overall, Colorado College controlled the game, outshooting CSB, 34-12, and holding a 19-6 advantage in shots on goal. The Bennies struggled with turnovers, committing 25, and losing the draw control battle, 13-11. Colorado College also had a 18-13 edge in ground balls. The Tigers were successful on 10-of-16 clears, while CSB converted 7-of-18.

CSB will look to bounce back when they host UW-Eau Claire for a WIAC matchup on Wednesday, April 2, at 5 p.m.
