Audrey Spolidoro of CSB Volleyball named MIAC VB Specialist of the Week - Sept. 23, 2024

Audrey Spolidoro earns her second MIAC Volleyball Specialist of the Week honor in 2024

BLOOMINGTON, Minn.Audrey Spolidoro, a senior setter for the College of Saint Benedict volleyball team, has been named the MIAC Volleyball Specialist of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the conference on Monday, Sept. 23.

Originally of Cottage Grove, Minn., and majoring in global business, Spolidoro earned this recognition after a standout performance at the Wartburg Invite in Waverly, Iowa, where she tallied three double-doubles and averaged 10.21 assists per set. This is the fourth time in her career that she has earned the MIAC Specialist of the Week award, with previous honors on Sept. 3, 2024, Sept. 18, 2023, and Oct. 2, 2023.

Spolidoro was named to the All-Wartburg Invite Team and had earlier been selected to the Falcon Invite All-Tourney Team. Her efforts helped the Bennies secure a five-set victory over Coe College, where she recorded 47 assists and 17 digs. She also posted 52 assists and 22 digs in a narrow 3-2 loss to Simpson and contributed 44 assists and 19 digs in a 3-1 defeat to host Wartburg.

For the weekend, Spolidoro averaged 10.21 assists per set, accumulating 143 assists, 58 digs, and 9 kills. She also moved into seventh place on CSB's career assists list with 2,916 total assists. This season, she has recorded 40 or more assists in seven matches, with a season-high of 55 set assists on August 31 against SUNY-Cortland.

So far in 2024, Spolidoro has amassed 451 assists, averaging 9.80 per set, along with 13 service aces, 30 kills (.314 hitting percentage), 23 block assists, and 141 digs, averaging 3.07 per set.

CSB now shifts its focus to MIAC conference play, starting with a match against Augsburg in Minneapolis on Sept. 27 at 7 p.m., followed by a home game against St. Catherine on Sept. 28 at 5 p.m. in Claire Lynch Hall.
