WOODBURY, Minn. – Junior Catherine Jance delivered a career-best performance with a two-round total of six-over-par 150 (75-75), for seventh place to lead the College of Saint Benedict golf team to a sixth-place finish at the St. Kate's Fall Invite, which concluded on Sunday, Sept. 15, at Eagle Valley Golf Course.

For the third consecutive meet, a CSB golfer achieved a career milestone, with Jance recording the team's best two-round score of the season. On Saturday at Braemar Golf Course in Edina, Minn., Jance was in fifth place after shooting a three-over-par 75, marking her career-best single round. She matched that score on Sunday at Eagle Valley, making three birdies, including two in the final four holes, to achieve her season and career-best two-round total. With her score of 150, Jance is tied for fourth on CSB's all-time list for 36 holes, alongside Natalie Amundson (2019) and Emily Renner (2023). Her rounds of 75 are tied for the eighth-best single-round score in school history.

"I'm happy to see Catherine's hard work pay off," said CSB head coach Daryl Schomer. "She's a talented player but sometimes puts too much pressure on herself. This weekend should be a big confidence boost."

As a team, St. Benedict showed continuing progress, posting a two-round total of 54-over-par 630 (312-318), which earned them sixth place. After setting a season-low score of 312 on Saturday in Edina, the Bennies followed with a 318 on Sunday. Their 630 total was six shots better than their previous season-best of 630 just last week at the D3 Central Region Preview.

St. Catherine, led by individual medalist Kyra Venne with a three-under-par 141 (69-72), won the team title with a two-round score of two-over-par 578 (294-284). Carleton took second place with a total of 33-over-par 609 (305-304). CSB finished just four shots behind Bethel and Macalester, who tied for fourth at 626.

Senior Georgia Hinton, after an opening-round 78, finished tied for 22nd with a two-round total of 160 (78-82). Junior Jamie Bimberg continued her strong start to the season, tying for 27th with a total of 161 (80-81). Juniors Maggie Roth and sophomore Taylar Nadler tied for 31st, each posting a 161. Roth carded a two-round total of 161 (81-81). Nadler, competing as an individual, carded a career-best 78 on day one and finished with an 84 on day two. First-year Sophia Anderson placed 36th with a two-round score of 165 (78-87), also posting a season-best 78 in the first round.

Next, the Bennies will compete at the Gustie D3 Classic on Sept. 21-22 at Emerald Greens Golf Course in Hastings, Minn.
