Sophia Jonas and
Greta Nesbit of the College of Saint Benedict tennis team have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for 2024, according to an announcement Tuesday (May 14).
The 2024 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 4, 2024.

In 2023-24, Tarrolly, Jonas and Nesbit were major contributors on the CSB tennis team which finished the regular season at 7-10 and 5-5 in the MIAC. Directed by veteran Head Coach
Jack Bowe, CSB made its third straight appearance in the MIAC Postseason Tournament.
With three honorees on the CSC Academic All-District Team, CSB had the second highest total honorees as four were recognized in 2023. In program history, a total of 10 Bennies have been academic all-district.
For the second straight year, Tarrolly was named Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators. She is just the second CSB tennis student-athlete to twice earn Academic All-District honors, joining Marcy Erickson in 1987-89. In addition, Tarrolly, Jonas and Nesbit were among seven Bennies named ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2023 as CSB earned ITA Academic Team honors for the first time since 2015. The trio of standouts also earned All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Tennis honors on May 7.
Tarrolly was named to the singles all-conference team for a second straight year and earned her first doubles honor. She was also honored on the All-MIAC Playoff Team for the first-time. Tarrolly of St. Cloud, Minn., finished 8-6, including 5-5 in the MIAC, at No. 1 singles and 8-6 (7-3 in the MIAC) at No. 1 doubles this season. An accounting major and Academic All-MIAC honoree a year ago, Tarrolly was regionally ranked No. 6 in singles in NCAA DIII Region VII in 2022-23 and also received votes this year. Tarrolly had a 22-11 record in her career in singles and 13-10 in MIAC play. In doubles, she was 20-16 overall in her career, which included 12-9 in MIAC play.
Jonas earned selection to the All-MIAC doubles team as she was honored for the first time in tennis. She also has a pair of All-MIAC honors in basketball.. Jonas, a junior accounting major from Hudson, Wis., teamed with Tarrolly at No. 1 doubles to go 10-5, including 7-3 in the MIAC. She is 17-21 in singles and 23-22 in doubles in her two years at CSB. Jonas now has three All-MIAC honors in two sports, including two in basketball. She is also a two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree in basketball.
Nesbit, a junior mathematics major from Le Sueur, Minn., was All-MIAC in doubles in 2024 after being named All-MIAC in singles in 2023. She had the 10-7 overall mark, including 8-2 in the MIAC, teaming with
Peyton Kopel at No. 2 doubles. Nesbit, has a 26-25 overall career singles record, including 16-13 in MIAC play. In doubles, she stands 23-15 with a 16-8 mark in the MIAC.
