Ten Bennies Earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Honors, Tennis Garners All-Academic Team Award

Bennies one of seven MIAC institutions to earn team accolade

GILBERT, Ariz. - The College of Saint Benedict tennis team reeled in 11 academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for the 2025-26 season, announced by the organization Wednesday, July 15. As a squad, the Bennies earned the All-Academic Team honor, while 10 Bennies were named ITA Scholar-Athletes. 
 
Senior Hannah Helms (Kerkhoven, Minn./Benson), juniors Kate Perbix (Elk River, Minn./Elk River), Marie Labenski (Northfield, Minn./Northfield), and Ella Marohl (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech), sophomores Ava Stritesky (Ostego, Minn./Rogers), Claire Erdal (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd), Lila Collins (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd), and Allyson Yahn (Pequot Lakes, Minn./Pequot Lakes) and first-years Addison Doherty (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) and Kaitlyn Rahne (Hutchinson, Minn./Hutchinson) represent Saint Benedict on the scholar-athletes list.  
 
In order to earn the Scholar-Athlete Award, one must have a GPA of at least 3.5 for the current academic year. For a team to earn All-Academic status, the program must have a team GPA of at least 3.2. 
 
Helms, an exercise and health science major, reels in the accolade for the first time in her career. 
 
A biochemistry major, Perbix garners the award for the third consecutive season, as she was also a scholar-athlete for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.  
 
Labenski joins Perbix as a three-time honoree, as the junior has excelled in the classroom while majoring in biochemistry and working on a neuroscience minor. Playing in the No. 5 singles spot all season, Labenski compiled an overall record of 5-10. One-half of the top doubles pair for the Bennies, Labenski teamed up with first-year Ellie Huber (Sioux Falls, S.D./O'Gorman) to finish with a 5-10 record. The junior previously earned the honor following the 2023-24 and 2024-25 campaigns.  
 
Majoring in nursing, Marohl also collects her third consecutive honor. The Bennies' No. 2 singles player, Marohl put together an overall record of 4-11 this season. The junior paired up with Yahn in the second doubles spot, finishing with a record of 6-8 overall and a 4-5 mark in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. 
 
Stritesky earns her second scholar-athlete honor, as the sophomore previously earned it following her freshman campaign in 2024-25. An accounting major with a minor in psychology, Stritesky appeared in one match for the Bennies this season. 
 
An exercise and health science major, Erdal earns her second consecutive academic accolade from the ITA. The sophomore was a consistent piece of the No. 3 doubles pair for CSB this season, as she paired up with Collins to finish with an overall record of 6-9, including a 4-6 record against MIAC opponents. 
 
Collins, an English major, joins her classmates as a two-time honoree. The Brainerd, Minn. native posted an overall record of 7-8 in singles play in the fourth spot and went 5-5 in MIAC competitions. Alongside Erdal at No. 3 doubles, the sophomore duo posted a 6-9 record. 
 
Yahn completes the list of Bennies with two ITA Scholar-Athlete awards, as the sophomore previously represented CSB on the list in 2024-25. A double major in nutrition and exercise and health science, Yahn compiled a record of 6-9 in the third singles slot. Overall, the sophomore went 6-9 at No. 3 doubles, playing all but one match alongside Marohl.  
 
Doherty, an accounting major, earns her first academic award following her freshman campaign. 
 
A biology and pre-physician assistant major, Rahne reels in her first accolade from the ITA following a solid freshman season. Rahne posted a record of 6-8 in the No. 6 singles spot for the Bennis this season, including a 4-5 record in league matches.   
 
As a team, Saint Benedict earns its 17th ITA All-Academic Team honor in program history and makes it four consecutive years. The Bennies previously received the distinction from 2003-15.  
 
Saint Benedict was one of 177 Division III teams to earn the All-Academic Team award, and one of seven MIAC institutions. Gustavus Adolphus College, Carleton College, St. Catherine University, St. Olaf College, Saint Mary's University, and The College of Saint Scholastica also earned the team accolade. CSB made up 10 of the 64 student-athletes in the MIAC to receive Scholar-Athlete status.
