COLLEGEVILLE, Minn.-- The College of Saint Benedict tennis team (7-8, 5-4 MIAC), which had a win in No. 1 doubles from
Ashley Tarrolly and
Sophia Jonas, dropped an 8-1 MIAC decision to Gustavus Adolphus (10-9, 5-1 MIAC) on Senior Day at the Chang Tennis Complex on Sunday (April 21).

After the loss to Gustavus, Saint Benedict fell to 5-4 in conference play which places them in seventh place in the MIAC. Overall, CSB is 7-8 with a conference match against Carleton College on Sunday, April 28 at the Chang Tennis Complex in Collegeville, Minn.
CSB, which lost all six singles and two doubles matches, picked up a win at No. 1 doubles.
Tarrolly and Jonas improved to 8-3 overall and 7-2 in conference play at No. 1 doubles with an 8-4 decision over Molly Austin and Kaya DeBruijn.
At No. 2 doubles, CSB's
Peyton Kopel and
Greta Nesbit fell to 10-5 overall and 8-1 in MIAC play after an 8-2 setback to GAC's Allison Szalay and Bethany Smith. At No. 3 doubles, senior
Jane Bodensteiner and first-year
Kate Perbix also took an 8-2 setback to Pavla Yakimova and Alli Laux. As a result, Bodensteiner/Perbix fell to 7-2 overall and 6-2 in the MIAC.
In singles, CSB lost a pair of close decisions by tie-breaker. At No. 1 singles Tarrolly dropped a 2-6, 7-6 (7-2), 0-1 (5-10) decision to Austin. Tarrolly's record dropped to 7-5 overall and 5-4 in the MIAC.
At No. 2 singles,
Peyton Kopel fell to 4-11 overall and 4-5 in league play, after losing a tie-breaker to Szalay by 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (5-7) and 0-1 (8-10).
At No. 3 singles, Nesbit fell to 6-9 overall and 4-5 in the MIAC after dropping a 1-6, 0-6 decision.
Senior
Jane Bodensteiner dropped to 7-8 overall and 5-4 in the MIAC after losing in straight sets to Laux, 2-6, 1-6.
At No. 5, Jonas lost a 3-6, 1-6 decision to Yakimova. As a result, Jonas is now 7-6 overall and 5-4 in the MIAC.
Playing at No. 6 singles, first-year
Ryanna Steinhaus lost to GAC's Ella De Young, 1-6, 3-6 to fall to 5-7 overall and 4-4 in the MIAC.
