ORLANDO, Fla.-- The College of Saint Benedict tennis team (3-4) concluded the spring break trip successfully by defeating Ursinus College (6-2), 8-1, in nonconference play on Friday, March 8 at the USTA National Campus.
CSB has a 2-3 record on the spring break trip after defeating Allegheny College, 8-1, on Mar. 4 and then Ursinus College today. Saint Benedict will be back on the court on Saturday March 8, when the Bennies return to conference play against College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn.
"We had a great trip and really had some really good moments," said CSB head coach
Jack Bowe, whose team won 5-of-6 singles matches and swept doubles. "Today, we did a lot of things really well. I think we continue to show growth and development as a team," he said.
At No. 1 doubles against Ursinus College, junior

Greta Nesbit beat Allie Armour and Avery Samer, 8-2. At No. 2 doubles, CSB defeated UC as senior

Sophia Jonas defeated Claire Burke and Bella Vassalluzzo by score of 10-7 (7-2). CSB, which won the doubles point, controlled the match at No. 3 when first-year

Brooke Beier record an 8-5 victory over Caroline Daly and Julia Nitz.
In singles play, the Bennies won five out of six total matches. At No. 1 singles, senior
Peyton Kopel (1-5) lost in a tiebreaker of 4-6, 6-7 (4-7) to Armour. Playing at No. 2,
Greta Nesbit improved to 3-4 on the season with a straight set 6-2, 6-2 victory over Burke. At No. 3 singles, Bodensteiner moved to 3-4 on the year after a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Samer. Jonas, who is now 3-2 in singles play, registered a win at No. 4 singles match by defeating Daly, 6-4, 6-2. Sophomore
