ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – Senior Emi Wagner of the College of Saint Benedict swim and dive team, who recorded a pair of All-MIAC performances at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships on Feb. 14-17 in Minneapolis, Minn., has been selected the St. Cloud Orthopedics / CSB Athlete of the Week.

Wagner, a senior biology major from St. Cloud, Minn., recorded All-MIAC honors with a career-best second in the 50-yard freestyle and also anchored the 200-yard free relay to a second-place finish. Wagner, who also earned the St. Cloud Orthopedic/ CSB Athlete of the Week honor on Nov. 6, was part of four top-10 program marks during the MIAC Championship.

By clocking the second-best 50-yard freestyle clocking in program history of 23.93, Wagner had her second straight All-MIAC performance in the event. Wagner, who was third in the 50-yard freestyle in 2022-23, finished second with her clocking of 23.93, which bettered her previous best of 23.98 a year ago. Her 50-yard freestyle ranks only behind Steph Bierman's 23.71 in 2013.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team, which included Wagner, as well as senior Jocie Larson, senior Lindsay Smutka, and sophomore Rachel Schlueter, clocked a 1:37.43 for second-place in picking up All-MIAC honors. CSB's relay team clocked the fourth-best time in school history.

Wagner, who also placed sixth individually in the 100-yard freestyle with a clocking of 54.16 in the finals (54.09 in the prelims), helped the Bennies place sixth (376 points) in the team standings. Anchored by Wagner, the Bennies also took sixth in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:37.29, a mark that ranks 10th all-time at CSB. The relay squad included sophomore Mikayla Haskamp, Larson, and Schlueter.

In the 400-yard medley relay, Wagner helped CSB finish sixth with the sixth-best mark in school history of 4:01.64.  Wagner, who clocked a career-best 52.78 in her 100-free leg, was joined by Smutka, Schlueter and Megan Bartels on the relay squad.

During her career, Wagner has had four All-MIAC honors, including two in the 50-yard freestyle as well as twice as a member of a 200-yard freestyle relay. In addition, she has six honorable mention All-MIAC honors, including two individual events (50 free, 100 free) and four relays (200-yard freestyle twice, 400-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relay).
