ST. JOSEPH, Minn- As the regular season begins to pick up, the College of Saint Benedict hockey team (0-1-0) is set to face the University of Wisconsin-Superior (1-1-0) in an away contest on November 5. CSB will travel to face the Yellowjackets at 7 p.m., in Superior, Wis.
After the trip to UW-Superior the Bennies will host UW-Superior at 6 p.m., Nov. 12 in the home opener. St. Ben's opens MIAC play against St. Olaf at 6 p.m., Nov. 22 in Northfield. The Bennies then host St. Olaf in its MIAC home opener on Nov. 23 at 6 p.m., at Ritsche Arena. The MIAC Tournament is set to start on Feb. 27.
The Bennies finished 11-12-2 a year ago with a 7-9-2 MIAC record for sixth place, which was just a game out of the MIAC playoffs. Two years ago, CSB advanced to the MIAC playoffs after going 14-12 with an 11-7 conference mark for third in the MIAC. It was the program's highest conference finish ever.
About the UW-Superior Yellowjackets
UW-Superior went 1-1 last week, dropping a 3-1 game against Lake Forest and recording an 8-5 win with both games at Superior, Wis. First-year head coach Bre Simon leads the Yellowjackets. On offense, the Yellowjackets are led by Jenna Hoops with a goal, two assists, and seven shots on goal.

When CSB meets UW-Superior on Tuesday evening, the teams will play for the 19
th time. CSB has an overall record of 5-13 against UW-Superior. CSB has a 2-7 away record when playing the Yellowjackets. In their last meeting on January 31, 2023, the Bennies defeated the Yellowjackets 4-2 in St. Cloud, Minn.

CSB opened the season with a loss to No. 1 and defending national DIII champion UW-River Falls (1-0), 8-2 in River Falls, Wis.
Through one game, the Bennies have totaled two goals and allowed eight. The Bennies have been outshot 26-18. In goal, CSB has 10 saves, with opponents having 24. In power plays, CSB has had a 50% power play rate while their opponents are 16%. CSB has won 32 faceoffs and lost 28 for a 53.3 percent win rate.

Ava Stinnett scored a power play goal against UW-River Falls. Stinnett, who has played in 74 career games, has 26 goals, 23 assists, and 226 shots on goal. Last season, she was 5
th in the MIAC for faceoff wins, with 314 out of 597 taken.

As the senior progresses, players to watch include senior
Jenna Timm of Maple Grove, Minn., is a two-time All-MIAC performer with 11 career goals and 21 assists.
Aurora Opsahl, who tied Stinnett for the team lead in goals with 13 a year ago, was All-MIAC in 2022-23. Opsahl also had seven assists for a team-high 20 points a year ago. The Duluth, Minn., native has recorded back-to-back seasons of double-digit goals and has 30 in her career with 26 assists for 56 points. Opsahl, who has seven game winning goals, scored 14 goals with 14 assists in 2022-23. Stinnett has six game-winning goals in her career, tied for fifth all-time.
With 56 points, Opsahl ranks tied for eighth all-time with Anna Richardson (2000-04). She is ninth all-time in goals and just two from sixth (Kelly Wegwerth, 1998-99; Brigette Miller, 2014-18; and Erin Baldwin, 2003-07, all with 32). And with seven career-game winning goals she is tied with Paula Vogt (1998-01) and Elli Marvin (2013-17) in program history.

Kate Moffat, from St. Louis, Mo., who has recorded 696 saves in her career, which included 510 a year ago. She has a career save percentage of .918 with an overall record of 12-12-2. In 41 games, she has recorded four shutouts. Junior
