GLOUCESTER, Mass. - The College of Saint Benedict hockey team saw eight Bennies named American Collegiate Hockey Association Krampede All-American Scholars, as the ACHA announced the recipients of the honor Wednesday, July 8.
Senior Mia Lopez (Plymouth, Minn.-Orono) and junior
Shae Stinnett (North Oaks, Minn./Hill-Murray) earn their third straight accolade from the organization. Junior
Savannah Wuitschick (Fargo, N.D./South), sophomore
Merrill Delich (Andover, Minn./Andover), and first-years
Tana Carlson (Anchorage, Alaska/A.J. Dimond),
Lexi Hueller (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove),
Helena Siska (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North), and
Bailey Vesper (South Saint Paul, Minn./South Saint Paul Secondary) all reeled in the first award of their careers.
With this year's selections, 40 CSB hockey student-athletes have now earned a total of 78 AHCA Krampade All-American Scholar honors in the program's history. Of those honorees, CSB has had 22 recognized two or more times.
It is the 10th annual All-American Scholar list from the ACHA, and the ninth year that the organization has partnered with Krampede. To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester, and had to appear in 40 percent of the team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goalies. Schools also were required to be members of the AHCA. In total, 994 student-athletes, composed of 550 men and 444 women, made up the Division II-III nominations.
Lopez, a global business leadership major, appeared in all 28 games for the Bennies. She recorded two goals and six assists for a total of eight points, and added eight blocked shots to her stat line. The senior was also awarded Academic All-MIAC this season.
A double major in accounting and finance, Stinnett collected her third consecutive honor after a strong junior campaign. Stinnett finished second on the team with 18 points, tied for second in goals with 10 and tied for third with eight assists. The North Oaks, Minn. native was also named Academic All-MIAC and College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District. Stinnett was rewarded for her stellar season by being named Honorable Mention All-MIAC and MIAC All-Playoff Team for the first time in her career.
Wuitschick earned her first honor after appearing in four games, with two starts in goal for the Bennies. The junior logged 128:16 minutes between the posts, making 34 saves with only one goal allowed. She finished the season with a 2-0 record and a .971 save percentage.
Majoring in finance and economics, Delich reeled in her first accolade from the ACHA after a standout sophomore campaign. A staple on defense for CSB, Delich racked up four goals and 10 assists for 14 points, along with 12 blocked shots and a plus-minus of 14 across 28 games. The sophomore earned All-MIAC honors and was also named Academic All-MIAC and CSC Academic All-District for the first time in her career.
Carlson, a biology major, recorded her first academic award after appearing in all 28 games as a first-year. The Anchorage, Alaska native finished the season with four points, coming by way of one goal and three assists.
An exercise science major, Hueller collected her first honor after playing in 24 games this season. The forward recorded two points on an even one goal and one assist split.
Siska received her first honor after leading the Bennies offense all season. The first-year finished with team-highs of 22 points and 12 goals, while her 10 assists tied for the team-lead. She finished with a plus-minus of 16, the best on the team, and stuffed her stat line with 18 blocked shots. The Naperville, Ill. product was an All-MIAC honorable mention selection.
Vesper, an exercise and health science major, rounds out the Bennies on the list after earning the accolade for the first time. Across 28 games, Vesper recorded five goals and six assists for 11 points, 12 blocked shots, and finished with a plus-minus of nine.
These eight Bennies led the team to one of the best years in program history, helping the team finish with a record of 16-8-4. The 2025–26 season has been one of the most successful in program history, highlighted by the first MIAC Playoff Championship title and NCAA tournament appearance for the first time. In the MIAC semifinals, the Bennies earned their first conference playoff victory with a 4–2 win over No. 7 Hamline before defeating Gustavus Adolphus in the championship game to capture their first crown. Saint Benedict also set a new program record with 16 wins this season, surpassing the previous mark of 14 victories set by the 1999–2000 and 2002–03 teams.
Seven of the eight All-American Scholar honorees are set to return for the 2026-27 season. Saint Benedict will kick off its season Friday, Oct. 30, hosting Wisconsin-Eau Claire for a 7 p.m. puck drop in Ritsche Arena.
