Mary Kenney finished 53
rd to lead the College of Saint Benedict cross country team to 18
th place as a team at the NCAA DIII North Region Championships on Saturday (Nov. 16) at the Billy Huyck Cross Country Course.
Hosted by Carleton, the NCAA DIII North Region team crown was captured by Wisconsin LaCrosse, which placed five runners in the top 16 and finished with 63 points. St. Olaf had two runners in the top five and was second with 99 points while Carleton took third with 114 points as Hannah Preisser won the individual title with 21:24.6. The last three individual regional titles had been captured by 2023 national champion
Fiona Smith of St. Benedict.
The Bennies finished with 464 points to place 18
th (among 31 teams) as Kenney clocked 23:32.5 across 6,000 meters, which was a season-best (23:41.50) for the junior. Graduate student
Lucy Lyngen had another solid outing by clocking 23:46.2 for 64
th place.

Natalie Zielsdorf finished 109
th with a clocking of 24:52.0, which was just off her personal best of 24:49.70. Junior
Eva Creighton placed 116
th at 24:55.4 while sophomore
Abby Bufkin was 127
