NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- With four players in the top 40, the College of Saint Benedict Golf Team finished eighth at the St. Olaf-Carleton Spring Invite at the Willinger Golf Club. Due to the heavy rain forecast on Sunday, the second day of the meet has been canceled.
On Saturday (April 29), Bennies had a 68-over par, 356 on the par 72, 5,770-yard course. Wisconsin-Whitewater won the team race with a 26-over par, 314 and was led by the individual medalist Ellie Johnson at 1-under par, 71. This was the regular season finale for the CSB Golf Team.
Individually, CSB was led by junior
Emily Renner, who carded a 12-over par, 84. She had seven pars plus one birdie on the par 5, 471-yard 18th hole.
Junior
Hayden Boelter finished tied for 32nd as she carded a 17-over par, 89 and had three pars. Finishing tied for 38th was first-year
Jamie Bimberg, who finished 19-over par, 91. She had four pars on the day. The fourth student-athlete for Saint Ben's in the top 40 was first-year
Maggie Roth, who was tied for 40th. She had a 20-over par, 92 and finished with six pars.
First-year
Donelle Decker was tied for 52nd as she was 26 over par at 98. She had a par plus a birdie on the par 5, 474-yard sixth hole. Sophomore
Georgia Hinton was 56th with a 28-over par, 100. She had five pars on the day.
