MINNEAPOLIS -- The College of Saint Benedict Swim and Dive Team advanced eight individuals, which will join the 200 free relay squad, in Friday's finals session. Entering session four, the Bennies sit in fifth place with 140 team points.

Senior Molly Johanson had a season-best and seventh all-time mark in the 400 IM, with a 4:41.67 clocking. Johanson dropped nearly seven seconds from her seed time in the effort. Also qualifying for the A-final in the 400 IM was Fiona Rosko, who finished fifth with a time of 4:44.65. She bettered her seed time by just over three seconds in the prelim race.

CSB shined in the 100 backstroke with four Bennies advancing to the evening's finals. Junior Lindsay Smutka and first year Rachel Schlueter advanced to the A-final with top 10 program marks. Smutka's time of 58.58 ranks third all-time, while Schlueter's 58.95 is ranked fourth all-time and marked a personal best. Advancing to the B-final was senior Mads Slavik (59.74) and first year Lauren Sitzman (1:00.67) who both had season-best times. Slavik dropped half a second off her seed time, while Sitzman cut 1.2 seconds off her seed time. First-year Ellie Blatner also competed in the 100 back, finishing 20th in the prelim with a 1:04.24 clocking.

In 100 breaststroke, Megan Bartels advanced to B final, finishing in 10th place with a personal best time of of 1:09.61, dropping just over two seconds off her seed time. Also competing in the event for CSB was Emi Wagner, Liz Hansen and Mikayla Haskamp, who finished in 1:11.47, 1:12.01 and 1:16.03 respectively -- season best times for all three swimmers.

In 200 freestyle, Lauren Sitzman qualified for her second B final with with a personal-best time of of 2:01.16, dropping more than a second off her seed time. Four other Bennies competed in the 200 free, with all four recording season-best times. Junior Hannah Tatge finishing 19th (2:02.91), Sophomore Riley Engle finished 25th (2:08.4), first year Maddy Ahlquist finished 30th (2:11.24) and junior Emma Vicker finished 33rd (2:14.63).
