ST. PETER, Minn. -- The College of Saint Benedict No. 1 doubles team of 
Peyton Kopel and 
Sophia Jonas advanced to the finals at the ITA Regional Championships hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College. The duo made an incredible run in the tournament, marking the highest CSB finish in recent memory. 
The unranked Saint Ben's doubles team of Kopel and Jonas started their tournament run with an 8-1 win over Elise Bierbaum and Annika Hillstrom of Bethel. Kopel and Jonas advanced to take on Giana Apostoli and Xingchen Liu of Carthage College, where they posted an 8-5 win over the No. 9 seed. The Bennies advanced to take on third seeded UW-Whitewater where CSB advanced on due to an injury default by Whitewater. Kopel and Jonas then battled fifth seed Allison Szalay and Halle Rosentreter of Gustavus where the Bennie duo posted a 8-7(5) victory to advance to the final. The magical run came to an end falling 8-1 to top-seeded Amelia Asfaw and Mariam Nechiporuk of Carleton.
The first round doubles draw of 
Greta Nesbit and 
Maria Bedford fell to Olga Zubarieva and Allie Prokosh of St. Olaf 8-3. Nesbit and Bedford rebounded to top Giovanna Mendes and Sasha Manojlovic of Carthage 8-7(4) and followed that with a victory over Lexi Hastings and Abby Struble of Luther 8-5.
In singles play, Kopel lost in the first round to Mary Skorich of Concordia 6-3, 1-6 (12-10), while 
Maria Bedford fell to Bethany Marshall of UW-Whitewater 6-3, 6-1. 
Sophia Jonas also fell in the first round, falling to Pavla Yakimova of Gustavus 6-2, 3-6 (10-7) as did 
Greta Nesbit falling to Molly Asfeld of UW-Whitewater 6-1, 6-2.
