Bennie golf places tied for 6th at final meet before MIAC meet

WOODBURY, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict golf team wrapped up the second day of the St. Kate's Invite and their final regular season match of the season Sunday. The Bennies finished tied for 6th place as a team out of 14 total teams.  

The CSB golf team shot a two-day team total of 651 after shooting a second day team score of 327 to tie with St. Kate's B team and finishing one stroke behind 5th place St. Scholastica. St. Kate's A team would take the first-place title with a two-day team score of 606 and Bethel's A team and Carleton would finish tied for the runner-up spot with a score of 625.  

Sophomore Sami Boerboom led the Bennies on the final day of play, shooting a 78 for a two-day total of 157 to put her tied for 15th individually. First year Jamie Bimberg carded a second-day score of 79 for a total score of 163 to place her tied for 29th individually. Junior Emily Renner shot a second day round of 84 to put her tied for 19th with a total score of 160.  

Sophomore Georgia Hinton scored a second round 86 for a two-day total of 171 to place her 53rd individually. Junior Hayden Boelter carded a second round 97 to put her 70th individually with a total two-day score of 184. Sophomore Halle Strunk shot a second day score of 95 for a two-day total of 189 to place her 74th individually.  

Carleton's Carter Sichol placed first individually with a two-total score of 145 and St. Kate's Sydney Brandt finished runner-up with a total score of 147.  

Next the Bennies gear up for the MIAC Championships that take place on October 1st – 3rd at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids.
