ST. JOSEPH, MINN. – Sophomore setter
Audrey Spolidoro, who recorded a pair of double doubles (assists/digs) to help lead the College of Saint Benedict Volleyball Team to a pair of road wins on Oct. 14-15, has been named the CSB Athlete of the Week.
With Spolidoro leading CSB to the two wins and five straight match victories overall, the Bennies have improved to 14-7 overall and 6-1 for second place in the MIAC.
Spolidoro, who leads the
MIAC in assists, now has four straight double-doubles in assists and digs during the winning streak. In 78 sets this season, she has a league-best 796 assists or 10.21 per set.
In a five-set thriller at Saint Mary's University on Oct. 14, she recorded a double-double with her second-best career match assist total of 56. She also had 16 digs, three kills as well as three block assists in the 16-25, 27-25, 25-22, 24-26,16-14 victory.
On Oct. 15, she recorded 34 assists while adding 14 digs, two blocks and three kills as St. Ben's swept Carleton College, 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 26-24) on the road.
A sophomore from Cottage Grove, Minn., she has recorded 10 double doubles this year, including four in a row. She also surpassed 1,300 career assists and has 1,317 for her career.
This weekend, Spolidoro and her teammates will host a pair of matches at Claire Lynch Hall. CSB will host St. Olaf College at 7 pm on Oct. 21 and league leader and No. 16 Gustavus Adolphus College at 3 pm on Oct. 22.
