ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After scoring 10 goals against Morris Wednesday evening, the College of Saint Benedict soccer team's offense ran into a tough defense when Wartburg College came to town Saturday for the Bennies' home opener.
The Knights (2-0) scored a pair of goals in each half as CSB fell 4-0 at the OAC in St. Joseph. Saint Benedict is now 1-1 overall.
Wartburg scored the first goal of the game in the 15
th minute on a corner kick that bent in over CSB keeper
Paige Kahlmeyer, and made it 2-0 in the 22
nd minute. Kahlmeyer saved the original shot, but the Knights got the rebound and tapped the ball into the net.
Wartburg scored two late goals to ice the game, one in the 76
th minute and one in the 79
th minute.
Saint Benedict had six shots to Wartburg's 19, and the Knights held a 12-5 edge in shots on net. A handful of players each had one shot on net for the Bennies. Kahlmeyer took the loss and finished the game with four saves. First year

The Bennies return to action Sunday, Sept. 5, when they host UW-Whitewater starting at 2 p.m. at the OAC.
