ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After some tough nonconference games to start the season, the College of Saint Benedict soccer team starts MIAC play Wednesday against St. Kate's. Game time is 4:30 p.m. at the OAC in St. Joe.

ABOUT THE WILDCATS
The Wildcats ended last years shortened COVID-19 season 4-0. Starting off back to normal this season, they begin with a 1-0-2 record, with two ties on the road in the West Coast. Junior Amanda Elton has two goals to start the season and keeper Kate Praetz has a goals-against average of 0.29 and 11 saves.
LAST MEETING
The Wildcats overtook the Bennies in a tough 6-0 loss in their last meeting on May 2, 2021. CSB keeper Paige Kahlmeyer made 7 saves but could not tame the Wildcats offense. St. Kate's forward Lauren Witte had three goals and midfielder Amanda Elton had two goals to lead the Wildcats to the win over the Bennies. The Wildcats have won the last four meetings between the two teams dating back to Oct. 9, 2018.
THE STORYLINE
After an exciting win over UW-Whitewater on Sept. 5, the Bennies were hoping to use that momentum for their next game on the road against UW-Eau Claire. They held on the first half of the game; however, the second half would come back to haunt CSB after the Blugolds would score two and take the win. Kahlmeyer had three saves for the Bennies.

Sophomore Erica Golenzer is tied with senior
Roxy Veldman for the team lead with three goals so far this season. Sophomore
Caralyn Conners has two goals and one assist. Goalkeepers
Annie Waters and Kahlmeyer have each spent time in goal this season. Waters has a 1.51 goals-against average and four saves and Kahlmeyer has a 1.60 goals-against average and nine saves.
