NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Six different athletes picked up individual wins for the College of Saint Benedict track and field team Friday evening at the Meet of the Saints, hosted by St. Olaf College in Northfield.

Annie Kiolbasa,
Johanna Merten,
Maggie Beckmann,
Caitlin Salfer and
Olivia Hoff all won for the Bennies, who competed with the Oles, St. Thomas and St. Kate's.
Kiolbasa won the 5,000-meter run, and recorded a new personal-best time in the process. She finished first in 18:49.80 – a PR of more than 25 seconds. Pickthorn won the 100-meter hurdles in 16.93 seconds, and Merten and Beckmann both picked up their wins in throwing events. Merten won the javelin with a mark of 29.50 meters, and Beckmann won the hammer throw with a mark of 38.17 meters. Salfer and Hoff tied for first in the pole vault after they both cleared 2.82 meters.
CSB finished 1-2-3 in the hammer. Senior
Monica Monson took second with a mark of 37.31 meters – a personal-best mark of three-tenths of a meter – and first year
Haley Joos took third with a mark of 35.21 meters – a PR of more than 1.5 meters.
Hoff also took second in the 100 hurdles in 17.86 seconds.
Kate Gallagher took second in the 100-meter dash in 12.99 seconds and teammate
Madison Brown finished third in 13.39 seconds.
Maggie Mahota ran a personal-best time of 68.92 seconds in the 400 hurdles and took second, and a pair of Bennies finished in the top three in the high jump.
Elizabeth Selisker took second with a mark of 1.41 meters, and
Tiana Johnson took third with a leap of 1.36 meters.
Erin Martin (22.21 meters) and
Grace Zdechlik (20.84) took second and third, respectively, in the javelin.
Keiley Maahs finished third in the 1,500 in 5:11.18, and
Jena Wachowiak took third in the 5K in a time of 19:26.81. Joos also finished third in the shot put with a toss of 11 meters, and Maahs,
Tracy Renier, Selisker and
Lucy Lyngen took third in the 1,600-meter relay in 4:29.51.
While most of the team has the rest of the weekend off, first year
Fiona Smith competes in the 5K at approximately 7:50 p.m. at the Hamline Showcase in St. Paul. The remainder of the team is off until Friday, April 30, when it heads to St. Paul for the St. Thomas Invite.
