MOORHEAD, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict swim and dive team picked up a pair of team wins Saturday afternoon as it beat both Concordia and Jamestown in a tri-meet in Moorhead. The Bennies won five events and picked up 11 runner-up finishes en route to a 181-49 win over the Cobbers and a 139-101 win over the Jimmies.
Ana Birklid and
Fiona Rosko both picked up a pair of wins for CSB. Rosko won the 200 fly in 2:18.63 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:30.72, and Birklid picked up wins in the 200 IM and 200 backstroke. She finished the 200 IM in 2:17.21 and the 200 back in 2:15.60. Rosko was also part of CSB's runner-up 200 medley relay team as she,

Jessica Milstroh and
Emi Wagner finished in 1:56.56. Birklid teamed up with
Riley Engle,
Hannah Tatge and Wagner to take second in the 400 free relay in 3:53.39.
Junior diver
Emily Quill also picked up a win for CSB - and recorded her first national qualifying score of the season. She won the one-meter, 11-dive competition with a 418.7 - a season-best mark that put her 18 points ahead of the second-place finisher. First year
Sabrina Buffetta finished third with a score of 336.65.
Smutka finished the afternoon with a pair of second-place individual finishes as she took runner-up in the 200 free (2:06.67) and the 200 backstroke (2:21.95). Milstroh also recorded a pair of second-place finishes as she took second in the 200 IM in 2:22.53 and the 200 fly in 2:24.27. Sophomore
Laura Jennings helped the Bennies sweep the top three spots in the 200 fly as she took third in 2:25.41. Jennings also took second in the 500 free in 5:51.73 and teammate
Izzy Sonday took third in 6:00.84. Sonday also finished second in the 1,000 free in 12:22.73.
Molly Johanson took second in the 200 breaststroke (2:37.46) and third in the 200 IM (2:23.93) and Wagner and Tatge finished second and third, respectively, in the 50 free. Wagner took second in 26.12 seconds and Tatge took third in 26.79 seconds.
The Bennies are back in the pool Saturday, Nov. 20 for another tri meet – this one against St. Kate's and UW-Eau Claire in St. Paul.
