ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After its biggest win of the season, the College of Saint Benedict basketball team returns home and looks to keep its momentum going Saturday when it hosts Hamline at 3 p.m.

This is the team's first game home after a three-game road trip, and the Bennies are happy to be back at home before hitting the road for two more games next week. Of the team's seven remaining regular-season games, just three are in Claire Lynch.

ABOUT THE PIPERS
After playing two ranked teams, Hamline beat St. Olaf 69-63 Wednesday to get back on track. The Pipers are 5-2 in 2020, including 3-1 on the road. Reilly Geistfeld leads the team and the MIAC in rebounds per game, and is sixth in the league in scoring. Hamline is fourth in the league in both scoring offense (68.7) and defense (61.6).

LAST MEETING
Saint Benedict beat the Pipers 66-52 on the road earlier this season in a MIAC matchup in St. Paul. CSB jumped to a 23-8 lead after one quarter, the Pipers got within 32-31 at halftime and CSB held on down the stretch for the win. Alex Johnson had 14 points and 19 rebounds and Sidney Schiffler added 14 points for the Bennies.

THE STORYLINE
The Bennies picked up their biggest win of the season Wednesday, beating No. 23 Gustavus on the road. That win could be the springboard the team needs to get the remainder of its season on track and secure a spot in the six-team MIAC Tournament. CSB has seven regular-season games left, and four are on the road.

WHO TO WATCH
Maddie Schmitz just missed her career-high with 23 points Wednesday in the upset of Gustavus. Sidney Schiffler also had a big night with 16 points, including five free throws down the stretch to help seal the win. Megan Thompson leads the team in scoring, and also had some key points against the Gusties. Alex Johnson is still second in the MIAC with just over eight rebounds per game, and she leads the MIAC with 2.2 blocks per game - including a career-high six Wednesday against Gustavus.
