Volleyball Loch Lamond

Volleyball Abroad: Skol!

05/22/2019

The CSB volleyball team is in Scotland May 14-22. The team will play three games and spend time sightseeing in Glasgow, Edinburgh and around Scotland. Each day, a different athlete or athletes will write about the day's journey's. The bloggers for May 20 are Hunter Weiss '21 and Kalista Jager '21.

The day started off with a bus ride to Pitlochry. The team got some free time to explore the town and check out the river, cafes, and shops. After that, we went to a storytelling workshop with Alan. There, Brynne got to try on an old-fashioned kilt and strut her stuff on the Scottish runway. We also learned about different Scottish weapons and war tactics. Some of the team got to hold some of the weapons, and we decided our Minnesota war cry is Skol! After, Alan taught us a couple Scottish dances, which the team, coaches, and parents got to participate in. We learned that we should probably stick to volleyball.

Then we hopped on the bus and took a trip to Loch Lomond. The bus ride was full of games, chatting, napping, and pretty views (especially the sheep). Once we reached Loch Lomond,  we got to explore the Loch, and some tried out a talking telescope to see the beautiful mountains. Everybody took pictures by the Loch.

Once we returned to Glasgow, we went out for a pasta dinner (lasagna) and homemade ice cream. Then we went and explored the town, stopping by another restaurant for a true Scottish experience (Taco Bell).
