ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After suffering two defeats on the road last week, the College of Saint Benedict basketball team looks to gain a home-court win against Bethel University on Thursday, Jan. 31. The game, postponed a day due to weather, will be held at 7 p.m. in Claire Lynch Hall.
About Bethel
The Royals are currently ranked third in the MIAC with an 8-4 conference record and are 14-5 overall. Bethel is coming in with a three-game winning streak after defeating Macalester College on Saturday in a triple-digit win. Taite Anderson leads the Royals and is second in the MIAC with 17 points per game. Anderson is also third in the conference for overall points and field-goal percentage. Hannah Johnson leads the MIAC in defensive rebounds (154) and field goals (118) and averages 16.2 points per game.
Last Meeting
Last January, the Bennies and Royals faced off in St. Paul where the Bennies were able to pull out a comeback win. After trailing the first half, the Bennies came back in the fourth quarter to outscore Bethel 32-18 and end the game with an 83-76 victory. Saint Benedict senior forward

The Storyline
Saint Benedict was on the road last week, falling to Hamline and Saint Mary's in hard-fought contests that ended their five-game winning streak. CSB looks to move back into the win column at home against Bethel and Macalester College on Saturday. Bethel has Saint Mary's snapping at their heels for the third position in the conference. Seventh-ranked Saint Benedict needs this win to move toward a spot in the playoffs.

Megan Thompson, who averages 13.6 points per game and leads the MIAC in minutes played per game. Thompson scored 16 points against Saint Mary's, with teammates

Alex Johnson also scoring double-digits. Johnson is currently ranked fifth in the conference with 8.2 rebounds per game.
