2018-19: Named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team ... started in all 26 games ... averaged 26.2 minutes per game ... grabbed 95 rebounds ... finished the season with 166 points ... had 41 steals and 19 blocks ... averaged 6.4 points per game. 

2017-18: Named the team's co-Most Improved Player as a junior ... appeared in all 27 games, including seven starts ... averaged 17.7 minutes per game ... grabbed 48 defensive rebounds and 75 total rebounds ... finished the season with 125 points ... had 30 steals and nine blocks ... averaged 4.6 points per game. 

2016-17: Appeared in 16 games ... averaged 5.2 minutes per game ... grabbed 16 rebounds ... had eight assists and four steals... finished season with 24 points ... received the team's Most Improved award.

2015-16: First season ... appeared in six games. 

High School: Gates is a 2015 graduate of Lincoln High School, where she played basketball and volleyball for four years. Gates was coached by Candance Dudley.  In 2013, Gates earned all-conference honorable mention accolades. She was also voted her team’s Most Improved player. She earned all-conference and all-area honors and was team MVP as a junior and senior. In volleyball, Gates earned all-conference as a junior and senior and all-area second team honors as a senior. Gates also played for the SoMinn Fury AAU team.
 
Personal: Gates is the daughter of Brittney Hirschauer and Christopher Gates. She spends her free time by hanging out with friends, reading and playing sports. Her uncle Joseph Gates graduated from SJU. She is a communication major at CSB/SJU.
