MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict tennis team got back to MIAC play Saturday night when it took on St. Kate's. CSB picked up two singles wins, but fell 7-2 to the Wildcats at Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis.
Tessa Rahrick and
Ellen Stensrud each picked up a singles win for Saint Benedict (8-6, 1-2 MIAC). Rahrick won 6-2, 6-7, 10-8 at No. 2 singles, and Stensrud's match also went to extra sets. She won 2-6, 7-6, 10-3 at No. 4 singles.
Senior
Laura Finn took her match to extra sets, but fell 6-0, 5-7, 10-7.
Erin Kolbow fell 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 singles, and
Lauren Clark fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
Gabbie Noack fell 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6 to wrap up singles play.
St. Kate's swept doubles play to start the night. Finn and Rahrick fell 8-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Kolbow and Stensrud lost 8-4 at No. 2 doubles. Noack and Clark lost 8-5 at No. 3 doubles.
CSB returns home Saturday, March 25, when it hosts St. Cloud State at 12:30 p.m. at Sta-Fit in Sartell. Saint Benedict is outside for the first time March 31 when it hosts St. Olaf at 4 p.m. on the CSB tennis courts.
