ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict basketball team continues the MIAC season this Wednesday, Feb. 1, when it hosts St. Olaf College in Claire Lynch Hall. Game time is set for 7 p.m. as CSB looks to improve their 9-1 home court record.
Wednesday's game also marks the celebration of National Girls and Women in Sport Day, and this year CSB Director of Campus Recreation Marcia Mahlum was one of Minnesota's Breaking Barriers award winners. Mahlum will be honored at halftime of the game, as well as at a ceremony in St. Paul Wednesday afternoon.
About St. Olaf
St. Olaf is 6-13 overall and 2-10 in the MIAC heading into Wednesday's game. The Oles' latest game was a 56-47 loss against Concordia on Saturday afternoon. Makenna Ash leads the team with 13.6 points per game and is fourth in the MIAC with 9.1 rebounds per game. Betsey Daly averages 12.2 points per game and leads the MIAC with 10.3 rebounds per game.
Last Matchup
CSB and St. Olaf faced off two times last season, and the Blazers lost the first and won the second game. Saint Benedict lost the first matchup of the season 50-47 in St. Joseph.
Annie Dittberner led the team with 13 points and six rebounds in the loss. CSB won 65-54 in later in the season in Northfield. Niki Foken,

Alison Newton all scored in double figures in the Blazers' victory.
About CSB
Guetter leads the team with 10.1 points and 7.8 rebounds per game and Fokken averages 9.4 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. Fokken is second in the MIAC with 30 blocks this season. Saint Benedict heads into Wednesday's game after a 65-40 loss against St. Thomas on Saturday. Guetter had 13 points and seven rebounds in the loss. CSB is currently alone in fourth in the MIAC with six games left in the regular season.
The Storyline
CSB has benefited from home court advantage this season, and looks to improve to 10-1 at home. CSB, which got off to a hot start to the 2016-17 season, also looks to stay near the top of the conference and knock the Oles down a column in the MIAC standings. Looking ahead, CSB will be on the road for a conference game Saturday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m., when traveling to Bethel University, which is third in the MIAC standings.
