ST. PAUL, Minn. – Two members of the College of Saint Benedict hockey team scored their first goals of the season Friday night in the team's 6-2 loss at Hamline University.
First year
Riley Schneider scored the first goal of her CSB career and senior
Brigette Miller scored her first goal of the season for CSB against the Pipers in a MIAC game in St. Paul, Minn.
Schneider's first career goal came in the 15
th minute of the game and put CSB (0-4, 0-2) up 1-0 in the first period of play. Her goal came off an assist from Miller. The Pipers (3-1, 2-0) tied the score less than a minute later when Bre Simon scored her first goal of the game, and Simon put Hamline up 2-1 less than three minutes later.
The score stayed at 2-1 at the end of the first period, but the Pipers took a 3-1 lead early in the second on a goal in the fourth minute of the period. Miller's first goal of the season came in the 18
th minute of the second on the power play to cut the gap to one, 3-2.

Kylie Eklund assisted on the goal.
The score stayed 3-1 until Hamline scored again in the third minute of the final period, and from there the Pipers controlled the scoreboard. Hamline made it 5-2 four mintues later, and wrapped up scoring with a power-play goal in the 11
th minute of the final period.
When all was said and done, Hamline had 53 shots on net to CSB's 15. Junior goalie
Julia Carle finished the night with a season-high 47 saves to keep Saint Benedict in the game.

Kylie Eklund, Maddie Dockery and Miller all had two shots on net for Saint Benedict. CSB was 1-for-5 on power-play attempts and the Pipers went 1-for-6.
CSB returns home Friday, Nov. 17, when it hosts St. Olaf at 7:30 p.m. at the MAC in St. Cloud.
