ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict tennis team lost 6-0 to Gustavus Adolphus Saturday afternoon in a rain-shortened match in St. Joseph. The two teams got six matches in before rain ended the other three singles matches early.
With two matches left in the regular season, CSB is now 6-9 overall and 3-5 in the MIAC. Gustavus, which leads the MIAC, is 17-6 overall and 8-0 in the conference.
The day started with a sweep of doubles play for the Gusties. At No. 1 doubles,
Laura Finn and
Rachel Raden fell 8-1.
Victoria Beach and
Cassy Finn lost 8-3 at No. 2 doubles, and
Megan Hintz and
Taylor Kraemer fell 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
The No. 1, 4 and 5 singles matches were the only three completed before rain forced the match to end early. At No. 1 singles,
Laura Finn lost 6-2, 6-2. Kraemer lost 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles and Hintz fell 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.
The Blazers are on the road Tuesday, April 26, when they take on Bethel in Arden Hills, Minn. Saint Benedict ends the regular season Friday, April 29, when it hosts St. Kate's.
