ResultsST. PAUL, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict tennis team fell 9-0 to a tough St. Thomas team Sunday night at the Baseline Tennis Center in St. Paul, Minn. CSB is now 3-6 overall and 1-3 in the MIAC.
Sophomore
Ellen Stensrud forced a super tiebreaker in her match at No. 6 singles, but that was the closest the Blazers got against the Tommies, who are 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the league. Stensrud lost the first set 6-0, but came back to win the second set 7-5 to force the super tiebreaker, where she fell 10-6.
Laura Finn fell 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles despite a strong showing on the court.
Victoria Beach fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, and
Rachel Raden lost 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
Taylor Kraemer lost 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles, and
Megan Hintz rounded out CSB's singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 loss at No. 5 singles.
Finn and Raden teamed up at No. 1 doubles but lost 8-2, and Beach and
Cassy Finn fell 8-1 at the No. 2 doubles slot. Kraemer and Hintz lost 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.
CSB returns home for its last scheduled indoor meet of the season Thursday, March 10, when it hosts Hamline at 5 p.m. at Fitness Evolution in Sartell, Minn.
