ResultsSARTELL, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict tennis team improved to 2-3 in the MIAC thanks to a 7-2 win against Hamline University Thursday night at Fitness Evolution in Sartell. CSB is now 4-6 overall.
The Blazers started the night with three straight doubles wins to go up 3-0 heading into singles play.
Laura Finn and
Rachel Raden teamed up to win 8-5 at No. 1 doubles, and
Victoria Beach and
Cassy Finn won 8-4 at No. 2 doubles.
Taylor Kraemer and
Megan Hintz wrapped up doubles play with an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles.
Laura Finn and Beach started singles play with wins for the Blazers. Finn won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, and Beach won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.
Raden and Kraemer both lost in super tiebreakers at No. 3 and 4 singles. Raden won her first set 7-5 at No. 3 singles, but lost 1-6, 6-10 in the next two. Kraemer also started her match with a win at No. 4 singles, but ended up losing 6-3, 1-6, 2-10.
Cassy Finn and
Ellen Stensrud wrapped up the night with a pair of singles wins for CSB. Finn won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and Stensrud won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.
The Blazers are off now until they travel to Puerto Rico over spring break. They play the University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras on March 20 and Southern New Hampshire University on March 21.
