ResultsOWATONNA, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict tennis team lost 7-2 to St. Olaf Friday night in a MIAC match in Owatonna, Minn.
CSB picked up one win in singles play and one in doubles against the Oles (3-1, 2-0). Sophomore
Cassy Finn picked up the lone singles win for the Blazers at No. 6 singles. She defeated her Ole opponent in a tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-3 (10-4).
Taylor Kraemer and
Megan Hintz teamed up to win – also in a tiebreaker – at No. 3 doubles for the Blazers. They won 9-8 (7-5) after the tiebreaker.
Laura Finn and
Rachel Raden teamed up to form the No. 1 doubles team for CSB. They fell 8-3. At No. 2 singles,
Victoria Beach and
Cassy Finn fell 9-7.
Laura Finn played at the No. 1 singles spot for CSB Friday, and she fell 6-1, 6-1. Beach lost 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles, and Raden fell 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Kraemer competed at No. 4 singles and lost 6-2, 6-3, and Hintz fell 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
Saint Benedict is now 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the MIAC. The Blazers are back in action March 6 when they take on St. Thomas at 7 p.m. at the Baseline Tennis Center in St. Paul.
