ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict basketball team opens its home season this weekend when it hosts the Quinlivan & Hughes Tip-Off Tournament. The Blazers welcome UW-Stout, Martin Luther College, and Saint Mary's University to the annual tournament, which runs Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19-20, in Claire Lynch Hall.

About Martin Luther
The Knights head into the weekend 0-1 after starting their season with an 82-50 loss at Gustavus. Martin Luther is coming off a 2015-16 season where it went 13-14 overall. Mariah Schoof led Martin Luther with 13 points against Gustavus and Jade St. Germaine added 10 points and nine rebounds. The Knights shot 37 percent from the field and went 4-10 from the line. CSB beat the Knights 60-56 last year.
About UW-Stout
The Blue Devils head into the weekend 0-1 after starting their season with a 79-77 loss to Augsburg College. Last year the Blue Devils went 10-16 overall in the 2015-16 season. Aiza Wilson, Tamira McLemore, Abby Jordan, and K'Aezha Wubben all scored in double figures against the Auggies. Last season recorded a 69-64 win over UW-Stout.
This weekend kicks off a busy stretch for the Blazers, who play three games in the next five days. After hosting UW-Stout and Martin Luther, CSB plays University of Minnesota Morris Tuesday, Nov. 22. The Blazers will then have some time off for Thanksgiving break.
Saint Benedict opened the 2016-17 season with a 54-53 win at UW-Superior this week.

Chelsey Guetter, and
Kate Banovetz led the team all scoring in double digits. Guetter also had eight rebounds for CSB, which used a big fourth quarter to push past the Yellow Jackets.
CSB starts its conference season Wednesday, Nov. 30, when it hosts St. Catherine University at 7 p.m.
