ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team is back on the road this weekend for one nonconference game and one MIAC matchup. CSB starts its road trip Friday, Oct. 7, when it takes on University of Northwestern at 7 p.m. and then takes on St. Kate's Saturday, Oct. 8 at 3 p.m. CSB heads into the weekend coming off of a 3-1 win over St. Olaf.
About the Eagles and Wildcats
Northwestern enters Friday's game with a record of 17-3 overall and 8-1 at home and is ranked No. 24 in Division III. The Eagles are coming off a 3-0 win against St. Catherine. Lindsey Peterson leads the team with 290 kills, Jackie Doering has 299 digs, and Kaelyn Kilbo has 375 assists.
St. Catherine enters Saturday's game with a record of 11-11 overall and 0-5 in the MIAC. The Eagles are coming into this game having won three of their last four games. Shanee Herd leads the MIAC with 537 digs and 34 service aces, and recently went over 1,000 digs in her career.
Last Year
CSB lost to Northwestern in 3-0 on Sept. 1 in St. Joseph in CSB's first game of the year. The Blazers lost to St. Catherine 3-2 on Oct. 10 in St. Joseph. The Wildcats won the first two sets, then CSB dominated the next two sets only to lose by two points in the fifth and final set.

Megan Pekarek leads the Blazers with 557 assists and is second in the MIAC.
Liz Schultz (159 kills) and
Briana Schmiesing (151 kills) lead the Blazers on attack.
Haley LaValle leads the team with 264 digs. First years
Ashley Trustheim and
Cami Hoover have both earned spots in CSB's rotation and have become valuable parts of Saint Benedict's front row attack.
The Storyline
CSB is looking to move their record above .500 in a conference and nonconference matchup this weekend. Saint Benedict will have a tough opponent on Friday in Northwestern, followed by a St. Catherine team that has proved to be tough to handle on Saturday.
