ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team is back on the road this weekend for two nonconference games. CSB will take on UW-Superior at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14. Then, the Blazers travel to St. Scholastica for a match at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15. CSB heads into the weekend coming off of a 3-2 loss to Hamline on Wednesday.
About the Yellow Jackets and Saints
UW-Superior enters Friday's game with a record of 7-16 overall and 3-0 at home. The Yellow Jackets are coming into this game after a 3-2 win at UW-Stout. Alexis Landherr leads the attack with 262 kills, followed by Brylee Colligan with 235 kills. Emily VerWay leads the team with 704 assists.
St. Scholastica enters Saturday's game with a record of 9-12 overall and 3-1 at home. The Saints are coming into this game after a 3-0 loss at UW-River Falls. Amanda Belden leads the attack with 181 kills, followed by Noelle Elvehjem with 168 kills. Emily Kessler leads the team with 369 assists, and Alex Barsody has 404 digs.
Last Year
CSB beat St. Scholastica 3-2 on Oct. 21 in St. Joseph. CSB won the first two sets by two points before dropping the next two sets, and then winning the fifth set.
Megan Pekarek finished with a triple double with 50 assists, 13 digs and 11 kills.
CSB beat UW-Superior 3-0 on Sept. 12 in their last matchup in 2014. CSB won the first set by two points before dominating the final two sets to get the win.
Meghan Koop had 10 digs for the Blazers.
