ResultsST. PAUL, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict tennis team snapped a two-match losing streak with an 8-1 victory over Hamline Saturday afternoon in St. Paul.
The win pushes CSB's record to 8-10 overall and 5-4 in the MIAC. The Blazers currently sit in sixth in the MIAC, and should make the six-team field for the conference tournament. Official qualifiers and first-round pairings will be released later this weekend.
Saint Benedict started the day with a sweep of doubles play. Sisters
Laura Finn and
Cassy Finn highlighted doubles play with an 8-0 sweep at No. 2 doubles.
Rachel Raden and
Daley Rupar won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles and
Victoria Beach and
Taylor Kraemer came together for an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
Rupar came away with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles, and
Laura Finn continued the winning at No. 2 singles with a 6-3, 6-1 victory. Beach won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles, and Kraemer wrapped up her day with a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.
Ellen Stensrud rounded out the Blazers' final score with a 7-6, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles. Megan Huntz fell 1-6, 6-2, 10-3 at No. 5 singles.
CSB wraps up the regular season at noon Sunday when it takes on Gustavus in St. Peter, Minn.
