ResultsST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict swimming and diving team picked up five wins – four individual and one relay – in its final dual of the season Saturday afternoon. The Blazers, who finish the year 3-3 overall in duals, fell 129-113 to Carleton College at the Warner Palestra Pool on the SJU campus.
Saint Benedict got off to a hot start in the first event of the day as the 200 medley relay team took first in 1:56.23.
Emma Ridgeway,
Grace Hesse,
Laura Peterson and
Katie Heller teamed up to win the event.
Hannah Iverson,
Alexandra Alviani,
Taylor Graham and
Lauren Noel took fourth in the relay in 2:01.9 and
Katherine Maguire,
Kaylee O'Connell,
Eliza Zugg and
Callie Stark teamed up and took fifth in 2:07.31.
The Blazers swept the diving competition with
Alissa Lager winning the one-meter (227.25) and
Carissa Gaffy-Sanford winning the three-meter (235.85).
Megan Lawson took second in the one-meter dive (221.7), Gaffy-Sanford third (208.65) and
Rose Berg-Arnold finished fifth (176.95). Lager also took second in the three-meter dive (215.9).
Heller, a first year, picked up her first win in her Blazer career Saturday. She won the 50 freestyle in 25.84 seconds.
Meghan Harder finished second in 26.05 seconds.
Kristina Rudin picked up CSB's fifth win of the day in the 100 free. She won in 56.41 seconds. Heller took second in 57.34 and Harder finished fourth in 57.67.
Rudin also took third in the 200 free in 2:03.71, and Manley finished fifth in 2:09. Hesse was one of three top-five finishers for Saint Benedict in the 100 breaststroke. She took second in 1:15.19, Alviani took third in 1:15.27 and
Kaylee O'Connell finished fifth in 1:16.25.
Haley Chatelaine finished with a pair of top-five finishes as she took second in the 1,000 free in 11:37.69 and third in the 500 free in 5:42.79.
Amy Nemanich finished fourth in the 1,000 free in 11:53.55 and the 500 free (5:49.7) and
Hannah Manley also took fifth in the 500 free in 5:52.75.
Iverson took fourth in the 400 individual medley in 5:05.54 and Ellie Brewers finished fifth in 5:31.01. Ridgeway finished second in the 100 back (1:04.12) and Iverson was fourth (1:06.87). Peterson finished second in the 100 butterfly in 1:02.32 and Graham was fifth in 1:07.18.
The 200 freestyle relay squad of Rudin, Peterson, Noel and Harder finished second in 1:43.51 and Manley, Hesse, Ridgeway and Chatelaine took third in 1:47.86.
The Blazers return to action Saturday, Jan. 31, when they travel to St. Paul, Minn., for the St. Kate's Invite.
