ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict swimming and diving team wraps up the home portion of its 2014-15 schedule Saturday afternoon when it hosts Carleton College. The MIAC dual – which runs concurrently with the Saint John's/Carleton dual – starts at noon at the Warner Palestra Pool on the SJU campus.
 
Saturday is also senior day for CSB, and the Blazers' seven seniors will be honored briefly at 11:45 a.m. at the pool. Saturday's dual is also one of the last warm ups before the MIAC meet for both teams. After Saturday, Saint Benedict is at the St. Kate's Invite Jan. 31 and the UST Conference Invite Feb. 6-7. The conference championships are Feb. 19-21 at the U of M Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
 
About the Knights: Carleton enters today's dual looking for its first dual win of the year. This is just the third dual of the season for the Knights, who lost to St. Thomas in November and are coming off a 194-85 loss to Gustavus. In that dual, sophomore Maria Wetzel set the Thorpe Pool record in the 200 backstroke in 2:06.76.
 
Last Year: Saint Benedict beat Carleton 169-127 last season in a dual in Northfield, Minn. CSB swept the diving competition with Megan Lawson winning the one-meter and Carissa Gaffy-Sanford winning the three-meter. Laura Peterson won the 100 butterfly and she and Meghan Harder were part of the winning 200 medley relay team.
 
Last Time Out: The Blazers finished third out of five teams this past weekend at the Meet of the Saints, hosted by St. Thomas. Laura Peterson won the 200 butterfly and also had two other top-10 finishes. Emma Ridgeway and Hannah Manley each recorded a pair of lifetime bests, and Kenzie Young finished with two top-five finishes.
 
Who to Watch: Peterson, a senior, has been consistent for Saint Benedict all season with six individual wins. Young has also been one of the Blazers' top finishers each meet, and Lawson and Alissa Lager have helped the CSB diving squad perform well this season. Katie Heller transferred in at semester and recorded two top-10 finishes at the Meet of the Saints in her first meet with CSB.
