St. Cloud, Minn. – The Saint Benedict hockey team dropped the second game of their two-game series this weekend against Concordia-Moorhead, falling 3-1 today (Jan. 19).
After getting shutout in the opener the Blazers bounced back today with a very physical and energetic outing. The Cobbers struck first with a goal in the first period but the Blazers made a comeback in the third on a goal from
Megan Brettingen.

It was all about energy for the Blazers and making sure they didn't leave anything at the end of the game.
"We wanted to come out today and make sure we left nothing in the tank and I really think we did that," said sophomore goaltender
Jenna Traut who had a 64 save weekend for the Blazers.
"We weren't pleased with the final yesterday. We felt as though we gave effort but left some out there on the ice as well so we knew we needed to come out with some fire today and we did a good job of that," echoed fellow sophomore
Tara Frey.
The Blazers are travelling to St. Paul next Thursday to take on Hamline University looking for a victory, and some points in the conference standings in the process.
"I think that today's game will be big for us going forward because it will be a tough series and we really need a few points from it," Traut said. "Our big thing going forward is finishing games and giving it our all. We've been close, and if we are close in goals next weekend then we will be able to take the 'W'."
