The Blazers keep up their winning streak, defeating the University of Minnesota Morris on Wed. Mar. 28th with a score of 8-1.

Number one doubles, MacKenzie Rayman (Burnsville, MN, Apple Valley) and Cheyenne Raforth (Rapid City, SD, St. Thomas More), came out strong and took a quick 3-0 lead. They held on to that throughout the match, finishing up with an 8-4 victory. First year players Alicia Vargas (Coon Rapids, MN, Coon Rapids) and Ellie Black (Litchfield, MN, Litchfield) added another point for the team at number two doubles. Playing aggressively from both the net and the baseline, the pair finished up with a score of 8-2. Number three doubles, Alli Renze (Ankeny, IA, Ankeny) and Marit Fraune (Apple Valley, MN, Eastview), completed the doubles sweep with an impressive 8-3 win.

In singles, Jamie Hoffman (Bemidji, MN, Bemidji) battled back from a 0-6 setback in the first set to claim the second set and force a tie-break. Using a combination of strong net-play and consistent groundstrokes, Hoffman managed to climb her way back into the match. In the tie-break she came up just a bit short, losing the deciding breaker 10-5. The Blazers captured the remaining five singles positions, including a perfect 6-0, 6-0 by sophomore Marit Fraune at the six singles spot and a nearly pristine 6-0, 6-1 from first year Cheyenne Raforth at five singles.

The Blazers face St. Olaf today at the Owatonna Tennis Center at 6 p.m.
