The College of Saint Benedict Blazer volleyball team (10-6 overall, 2-1 MIAC) defeated conference opponent Macalester 3-0 tonight in Claire Lynch Hall.
Saint Benedict took an early 1-0 lead after defeating the Scots 25-20 in the first set. The Blazers tallied 15 kills and a .233 kill percentage as they held Macalester to a -.044 kill percentage. CSB appeared to be too much for the Scots as they took the second set 25-12. Saint Benedict earned 13 kills as they produced a .480 kill percentage in the second set. Macalester had 10 kills as the Blazers held them to a .027 kill percentage. The Blazers carried their momentum from the first two sets into the third to take the match with a 25-16 win over Macalester. CSB generated 14 kills and a .242 kill percentage in the third set and held the Scots to a .036 kill percentage.
