The College of Saint Benedict Blazer tennis team (1-2 overall, 0-0 MIAC) defeated Minnesota State University-Moorhead (1-2 overall, 0-0 NSIC) 9-0 Saturday night in Moorhead, MN.

The Blazers were perfect winning all nine matches on the day.  The number one doubles duo of juniors Sarah Rossman (Rochester, MN, Lourdes) and Lauren Jones (Ogden, UT, Saint Joseph Catholic) defeated Alyse Grelson and Kayla Huether 8-5. At second doubles senior Kylie Huether (Sioux Falls, SD , Washington) and junior Alyson Brandell (Elk River, MN, Elk River) defeated Kathryn Neaubauer and Brenna Johnson 8-2.  At third doubles first-year Jamie Hoffman (Bemidji, MN, Bemidji)and junior MacKenzie Rayman (Burnsville, MN, Apple Valley) defeated Susan Gilkerson and Jennesa Wieny 8-3.

At first singles the Blazers' Huether defeated the Dragons' Huether 6-1, 4-6, 10-8. Jones defeated Neaubauer 6-3, 6-0 at second doubles. At third doubles Brandel defeated Grelson 6-4, 6-2.  Hoffman defeated Johnson 6-0, 6-1 at fourth doubles.  At fifth doubles Rossman defeated Gilkerson 6-1, 6-0. Junior Megan Seipel (New London, MN, New London-Spicer) defeated Wieny 6-0, 6-1 at number six doubles.

The Blazers travel to Arrowhead Tennis Center in Duluth, MN on Saturday February 19th to play the University of Minnesota Duluth at 11 am.
