The College of Saint Benedict nordic ski team edged out St. Cloud State University by one point to earn an eighth place overall over the weekend in Ishpeming, Michigan. The Blazers collected 23 points from Saturday's freestyle race and 34 points from Sunday's classic race for a total of 57 points. Northern Michigan University won the event with 152 total points.

Megan Smith (Lakeville, MN, Lakeville North) placed 29th in the freestyle race with a time of 19:34.8 to lead the Blazers. Sophomore
Caitlin Goodman (Eugene, OR, South Eugene) and senior
Stephani Seymour (Plymouth, MN, Wayzata) also contributed to the CSB score. Goodman finished 38th overall at 20:51.6, and Seymour came in 43rd at 21:10.1.
In the classic race, Smith led CSB with an impressive 12th place finish with a time of 51:26.0. Seymour was next for the Blazers with a 35th place finish (57:31.6), and Goodman finished in 44th place (58:42.8).
The Blazers will compete in NCAA Regionals in Houghton, Michigan next weekend, February 19th and 20th.
